Loser by Jerry Spinelli
I really liked this book, but I don't like the title. This book is about a boy called Donald Zinkoff. Everyone calls Donald "Zinkoff". But Zinkoff, even though he's in middle school, still acts like a baby. He has messy handwriting, just like toddlers. Zinkoff hardly gets an A. Even though Zinkoff tries his best, he can't get good grades, which makes all the other kids call him a "Loser". On Field Day, Zinkoff was allowed to go ahead for the Big Running Race. But when Zinkoff was running, as hard as he could, was so far behind of the other teams, that when his team finally made it to the finish line, everyone whispered "LOSER" to Zinkoff. Poor Zinkoff. Even his teachers don't like him! They think that he doesn't try hard.
Can Zinkoff finally be the hero that everyone wants?

Penn even is friends with Crash's little sister Abby. Penn also believes an old legend about Mississippi River mud. Penn says that when the mud is 50 years old, it can cure anything.
