Iggie's House by Judy Blume

This book is about a girl named Winifred.

It all starts when Winifred's friend Iggie moved away. The people who moved in were black. There were no black people on Winifred's street. Winifred thought it was special. The people who moved in were the Garber's. There are 2 boys and a girl. They are from Detroit. Winifred thinks there from Africa she is a little disappointed when she find out that they aren't.
Down the road there is this girl. She is not allowed to play with black people and she hates them. So does her mother. So they make a petition and they put up a sign right in the Garber's front yard telling them to leave! Can Winifred convince them to stay, or will they move again?
