The Double-Digit Club by Marion D. Bauer

I liked this book a lot. I think you will too! It starts out with a girl named Sarah and her friend Paige. Also there's this girl Valerie. Valerie has this club only for double-digits. Sarah isn't 10 yet. Paige is going to turn ten before Sarah. One day Sarah and Paige were sitting on the lawn, and they both had dolls that looked like them. Sarah moved her doll and said "Do you want to join my club Paige?" Paige moved her doll and said "No thank you Valerie." They had been practicing that for hours. Paige was supposed to answerer no. Sarah didn't have many friends, and she really didn't want to lose Paige as a friend. When Paige turned 10 they decided to go to the beach. Before hand they had practiced a speech for Paige to say when Valerie asked her to join the club. So they went down on the beach and parked their bags and towels right next to Valerie's and her clubs. Then they sat down. After a while Valerie came over and asked Paige "Would you like to join the club?"
Will Paige say yes or will she say the practiced speech that Sarah had told her to say?
Read the book to find out!
